A medical dummy with a consciousness develops a crush on a medical student, but becomes jealous when the student gets a girlfriend.

SYNOPSIS

Adelina loves Tony. He's the only person who doesn't treat her like an object. When she's alone with him, her life is perfect.

But one day, Tony walks in with his new girlfriend: Gina. Her presence enrages Adelina, and her whimsical fantasies transform into twisted visions of hate.

Then one day, she finds out Tony is leaving with Gina. Adelina's rage peaks at this moment, and she finally lashes out.

DIRECTOR'S STATEMENT

At its core, Adelina is a story of unrequited love. Everyone has either known an Adelina or been her at some point. The desire to love and be loved is universal, and, unfortunately, so is heartbreak. This film serves as a cautionary tale about falling for someone. The euphoric splendor of happiness is a feeling that’s hard to live without, often times we’ll do anything to have it. Even if it, means warping our own sense of reality to create ideas that aren’t really there.

Jack McMillan - Writer/Director

IMG_4408_edited.jpg

There has never been a time in Jack's life when he didn't want to be a filmmaker. Some of his earliest memories involve stealing the family video camera and filming his toys. Sensing his love for filmmaking, his parents introduced him to Turner Classic Movies, allowing him to be exposed to a plethora of diverse filmmakers from the past. These films showed him there was no one way to tell a great story. Since then, Jack has striven to make films that tell stories in diverse and creative

manners. Jack's films are usually smaller, more intimate stories that explore the darker sides of humanity. He desires to tell the smaller stories, believing they have value and are often forgotten.

Natalia Corzine - Producer

Natalia has been surrounded by visual arts all her life. Her mother is a professional photographer who introduced Natalia to the medium as soon as she could hold a camera. This helped her develop a keen eye for images and an interest in different mediums. Ultimately, she fell in love with filmmaking. Natalia tries to push the boundaries of narratives by finding new ways to tell stories that have already been explored. She is especially

drawn to character studies with a dark edge. The greatest compliment Natalia can receive from viewers is having them leave her films feeling differently than when they walked in. To Natalia, films are more than just projects; they are profound messages that allow us to connect with others.

Olivia Francis - Adelina/Gina

IMG_4430_edited.jpg

Olivia Francis is a sophomore performing arts major with a minor in dance. She likes coffee, the beach, and snow. She doesn’t like life-like dolls. Despite that fact, she enjoyed working on Adelina so much. She thanks Jack McMillan for trusting her to bring this vision to life, Natalia for acting as 2-3 different people on set but still making it comfortable and fun, and the rest of the cast and crew for making this film.

Steven Smith - Tony

Steven Smith is a first-year M.F.A. performing arts student and is honored to help bring Adelina to life (wink, wink). Previous productions at SCAD have included the stage productions Everybody, Much Ado About Nothing, and Stupid F***ing Bird – the last two bring projects of Grad Lab, a student organization on which he currently holds the board position of cohort liaison.
